Dan Kimball
Author, The Emerging Church
As the founding pastor of Vintage Faith Church, Dan Kimball is leading a congregation in Santa Cruz, California, that targets the emerging post-Christian culture. Vintage faith is a church plant out of Santa Cruz Bible Church, where Dan served as the high school pastor for 8 years. Years ago, when Dan began to see a need for a worship gathering that reflected more of the values of the emerging culture and heart of emerging generations, he launched “Graceland," a Sunday night worship service targeting college students. Originally Graceland was a college ministry, but because it connected with a broader age range, it became a worship service for all ages. Graceland eventually folded into Santa Cruz Bible Church as the dream for launching a new church in Santa Cruz was formed—thus came the birth of Vintage Faith Church in February 2004.
Dan is the author of the books The Emerging Church: Vintage Christianity for New Generations and Emerging Worship: Creating Worship Gatherings for New Generations which addresses the misconceptions people have about Christianity. Dan is involved in some national ministries which are rethinking how church is done for the emerging culture and he also serves on the emergentYS board and speaks extensively around the country. He is also the keynote speaker at several national conferences and events across the country. These events include Fusion and Leadnow conferences, which are created by Rightnow, a division of Bluefish TV.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Dan received a BS in Landscape Architecture from Colorado State. He also has a Masters degree from Western Seminary. Dan and his wife Becky have two daughters, Katie and Claire.
